Mother’s Love That Never Leavesorever
Having my mom in my life was the greatest blessing I could have ever asked for. When I think about her, the first thing that comes to mind isn’t just that she loved me; it’s how deeply she loved me and how she showed it in everything she did, even in the smallest, quietest ways.
She was strong, gentle, loving, and so protective of me. And she was funny too—she had her own way of showing love that I didn’t always notice in the moment, but I feel it now more than ever.
She was always checking in on me. If I were out late, I’d get a text saying, “Come home" or “Kiely, it’s late.” At the time it felt like her just being strict, but now I understand it was love. She cared about me so much; she just wanted me safe. She would cut me fruit, make sure I looked proper before I left the house… little things that meant everything.
Some of my favorite memories are the simple ones talking in the car or being in the kitchen together while she taught me her ways. Those moments didn’t seem big at the time, but now I realize they were everything.
Being around her, I always felt safe. No matter what was going on, there was this comfort in knowing she was there.
What I miss most is her voice. I miss her being here, checking on me, telling me what to do, even yelling at me. I never thought I would miss that, but I do. I would give anything just to hear her again.
Her love shaped me in ways I will carry for the rest of my life. And no matter how much time passes, she will always be my light.
And no matter how old I get, I will always be her princess.
