A Friendship That Changed My Life

How an unexpected beginning became one of life’s greatest blessings

I’ve been reflecting on the beautiful memories I was lucky enough to share with you, and even through the sadness, I can’t help but smile. One story that always warms my heart is how our friendship first began. I was temporarily filling in for you while you were on maternity leave at Symantec. My very first job in high tech. I remember secretly wishing that the girl on maternity leave might decide not to return so I could take the permanent position. But looking back, I’m so grateful you came back. Your return didn’t just end my temporary role; it began a friendship that would become one of the most meaningful parts of my life. Working side by side with you at Symantec is something I will cherish forever.

I’ll never forget our shopping trips, our lunches, and even our workouts together during those three years at Symantec. The moments that now feel even more precious. We didn’t just step away from our desks; we shared stories, dreams, frustrations, and hopes. Those simple everyday moments, woven into the routine of work life, became some of my fondest memories. You had such a beautiful way of making even the most ordinary days feel special.

Some of my most treasured times were the moments spent at your home, playing with Kendrick, sharing dinners, and feeling the warmth and love of you, Andy, and Kendrick. You welcomed me with such ease and generosity that it always felt like stepping into a second home.

What I will always hold closest to my heart is who you were at your core, someone with a genuinely kind spirit, someone who never judged, someone who embraced people exactly as they were. You offered understanding without conditions and compassion without limits. That is a rare and extraordinary gift. One that touched my life and the lives of so many others.

Losing you leaves a space that can never truly be filled. But the love, kindness, and memories you gave me will stay with me forever. They continue to shine, just like you always did.

Thank you for being part of my life. Thank you for the laughter, the support, the conversations, the meals, and all the moments that will live in my heart. I will miss you deeply, but I will carry you with me always.
